Federal officials announced this afternoon they're looking into an incident in which a Northwest Airlines jet flew 150 miles past its intended destination last night. The National Transportation Safety Board says the San Diego to Minneapolis flight lost radio contact with air traffic controllers for a little more than an hour. The plane landed fine and everybody was safe, if a little late.The NTSB is looking into whether pilot fatigue played a role. But here's the best part: the FAA says the crew explained they lost track of where they were because they were having a heated discussion about aviation policy.
