There's word from Washington that federal regulators have decided they will go to trial against one of the world's biggest banks.The case is over huge bonuses Bank of America paid to Merrill Lynch executives. This comes after a judge rejected a planned settlement between the Securities and Exchange Commission and B-of-A as a breach of "justice and morality."
The SEC now says it will "vigorously pursue" its case against B-of-A. The bank is accused of failing to disclose to shareholders that it authorized nearly $6 billion in bonuses. They were paid to Merrill Lynch executives as part of the takeover of the world's biggest brokerage.
