We're all familiar with the cost of college these days. Tuition just keeps going up, while students struggle to find jobs and loans.

Penn State is looking in every campus nook for a way to help. So the university is asking the parents of students who were accepted into its honors program, if they might be able to donate back a portion of the $3,500 merit scholarship the students all receive.

So far 11 have responded yes, to the tune of $13,000. A similar effort last year generated more than $200,000 in donations.
